The high-quality properties of polyester drawn textured yarn (PET DTY) stem from its rigorous and continuously upgraded production process system. In recent years, with the technological iteration in the chemical fiber industry, the production process of PET DTY has been continuously optimized on the basis of traditional technologies. From the melting of raw materials to the winding of finished products, the refined control of every link provides a solid guarantee for product quality, enabling it to adapt to a wider range of application scenarios.
The production process of PET DTY covers multiple core links, among which raw material preparation and melt spinning are the starting points of the process, directly affecting the basic performance of the product. High-purity polyester chips are generally used as raw materials in the industry. After drying treatment to remove moisture (moisture content controlled below 0.005%), bubbles generated during the spinning process are avoided to prevent affecting the yarn quality. Subsequently, the dried polyester chips enter the screw extruder and are melted into a uniform melt under precise temperature control of 280-290℃. After the melt is filtered to remove impurities, it is extruded through the spinneret of the spinning pack to form as-spun yarn.
Drawing and texturing are the key links to endow PET DTY with "elasticity" and a focus on process control. After cooling, the as-spun yarn enters the draw texturing machine, where it is drawn at a certain multiple (usually 3-5 times) through one or more drawing rollers, and at the same time, the yarn is subjected to false twist texturing treatment using a false twister. In this process, the precise matching of temperature, draw ratio, and false twist speed is crucial—currently, the industry has realized real-time linked adjustment of these three parameters through intelligent control systems, enabling the yarn to form a stable crimp structure and ensuring the elastic recovery rate reaches over 35%.
The post-treatment and winding links determine the final application adaptability of the product. The yarn after drawing and texturing needs to undergo setting treatment to stabilize its crimp structure and physical properties, followed by oiling treatment to improve the antistatic property and lubricity of the yarn, facilitating subsequent textile processing. Finally, the yarn is wound into cheese yarn with uniform density and good formation by the winding machine. Only after appearance inspection and random performance testing can it enter the market for circulation.
Process upgrading has always been the core driving force for the development of the PET DTY industry. Today, more and more enterprises have introduced online quality monitoring systems to real-time detect indicators such as yarn diameter deviation and breaking strength in key links such as spinning and drawing, realizing closed-loop control of the production process.
